At last a staff rota scheduler in Office 365

Now, there is lots of great stuff coming from the Microsoft Ignite conference but this one caught my eye. It’s called Microsoft StaffHub. It’s basically an online rota and staff scheduler for what MS calls ‘deskless’ workers.

With Microsoft StaffHub, it’s easy to create and manage shift schedules for your team and provide relevant information needed for the job. For deskless workers, their work schedule, and other important information, is right at their fingertips—on their mobile device.

So users can get all the information on their mobile device (Android and iOS only – sorry Windows Mobile). But it is also very suitable for desk bound workers as well. It looks to be a great solution as this has always been something that either had to be custom built in SharePoint or a third party tool had to be bought. There is hardly an organisation out there that doesn’t have staff rotas of some type or other. Most of the time, a large and complicated Excel file is used which is not very flexible. So StaffHub is of course based in Office 365 and is a self contained app but it’s focus on the mobile experience is so interesting. Files can also be shared and it allows for communications between manager and their teams as well as amongst team members. I can see great potential for this one.
