It also about giving employees a voice and a chance to speak, to respond, to question, to ask, to comment and even to complain. ESN is all about capturing and managing conversations within an organisation and with customers.

 

Enterprise Social Networking is a balancing act. You are trying to balance communications, organisational structures, culture, how people work, how they share information, how they learn, how they complain even.

One of the most popular tools for enterprise social networking is Yammer of course. This image sums up nicely what Yammer does. Ultimately, Yammer has to provide a value to both the business and the people using it.

But Yammer is just one tool. Just one way of improving communication and employee engagement. It can work for your organisation but equally it might not. All organisations are different, they have different cultures, different ways of doing things and multiple internal systems.

 

I understand clearly how people engage and communicate within organisations. I know the channels to use, how to use them and how to measure them.
